Dancing is back and it's Hot!



The first week at Zanadu Dance Studio in Ocoee at the West Oaks Mall was a new experience. Of course any time you start something new, you have to adjust. Looking at the organized monthly calendar, I decided to try a new dance training "party" called Zumba. It is called a party because in essence... it is a blast. You get a great toning session for your body with very nice cardio for the heart. The gentle nature of how the session ramps up your heart rate steadily with controlled movements of your body, makes it an excellent way to get in beach body shape for the summer. If you are not of latin origin, this is a great way to develop your hip movements and leg movements that are essential in salsa and rumba. Zumba originated in Brazil and has made great inroads into the USA. Its fun , easy, and it delivers healthy results. The opportunity to try Zumba is easily fullfilled in that they hold classes twice a day Monday -Thursday and then on Saturday at noon time at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. In my case, one Zumba session was all it took to get hooked. I now regularly attend at least two to three times a week and have lost several pounds and toned many muscle areas.
